Assalamualaikum to my very awesome and beloved Zenith people!

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

I'm sure many of you are surprised with the new look of our blog - really sorry about that. I practically forgot that PnI is in charge of it and brother Gapa is the boss. Really sorry, to Gapa and to PnI people. I seriously thought that everyone can play with it. But thank God Gapa is very forgiving and he didn't mind me messing up his blog design. Heehee Gapa you're too nice.

The purpose of me messing up this place is because I realized that, as time goes on and we're getting more and more blog posts, it's kinda difficult gain access to the particular post you want. So I tagged each and every post. Yes, sitting here the WHOLE day tagging. Plus, I've standardized the tags. But I swear I didn't change the content of the posts.

To summarize, here is a few new features of the new blog look:
1. Tags
2. "Microbiology" design with handwritten fonts (Gapa said it looks more personal)
3. Right at the very very bottom, there are 3 sections for the links we need: on Medic, on Islam, on Miscellaneous

    OK I want to explain about the links. We follow other Medic and religious blogs and we sometimes post the links on our Zenith fb. They're useful. So I practically dug up all the fb posts on Zenith, searched for suitable links and put them here. So we don't have to dig up old posts to search for a particular link.  InsyaAllah useful.

Hope you guys can enjoy. At least, don't be upset about me being too enthusiastic changing the blog. Sorry la, ok?

ATTENTION!

There will be a photography session tomorrow [25/3/2011] for our batch, 10am @ KOM square.

So plz do come and wear proper attire; brothers - shirt and tie, sisters - baju kurung or jubah..?

This session is compulsory for everyone. This is a good opportunity to have our formal photo shoot together, as blazers are available for everyone.

Those who would like to buy the picture, the prices are as follows:
Formal, A4 = RM10 for 1 piece
Candid, half of A4 = RM12 for 3 pieces
if 42 of us by the picture, we will get one piece of 10r picture + frame for free.

The Gloves Thing...

Assalamu'alaikum...briefly that's how gloves thing started, so right now, the question is what happen to the exchanged gloves?
Ok, as the person that is responsible, we are truly really very very very sorry as we do not give you any news regarding this whole thing. Especially for owner of that gloves, you ought to be given an explanation. SO , what had happened were:

1.After there were request to change gloves, we quickly gave them back to museum
2.Then, almost each week, we had asked wheter there were news from supplier, unfortunately, no :(
3.Then,come block 2, and still we continue to bug the museum with gloves-thing, but still no questions.
4.Then, come new year, so new book account, so cannot ask supplier at this point coz they want to close and open account... :(
5.Then, 3rd block now, a week before Raye Cina, museum told us that supplier said after raye cine, insha Allah, can settle this thing.
6.Then, 3-4 days later, museum asked us to call directly the supplier as maybe they will do it fast,so we did.
7.Monday, 14th Feb, we called the supplier, and having stressed that we want that gloves no matter what, if not the gloves,money would be ok, the supplier said they need one week to settle this.

Now, have to wait for supplier answer... plez pray the supplier give us either that...really3 sorry for all inconveniences... :(

Public Speaking

Assalamualaikum

First of all, congratulations to everyone who passed the end block exams for the 1st block. For those who didn't pass, don't worry. Well all be re-studying what we've learned in the first block anyway (for the Pro Exam in year 2), so don't be depressed and just remember to work a little harder next time. Who knows, it could be a blessing in disguise from Allah.

Anyway, I just wanted to address a few things about a program that the English peers are doing this block: Public Speaking.

I'll write in a numbered list format, because that's what we Medic students seem to like.

1. Keep it short & sweet. Try to limit what you have to say within the range of 4-6 minutes. You don't have to talk long. In fact, a lot of people would prefer it if you didn't talk for very long.

2. Your words, your responsibility. Please be aware that you will be held accountable for whatever you say in front. Therefore, avoid insulting others or provoking anyone. I don't care if it's from 'anonymous', if it hurts someone's feelings, you will have to bear the responsibility.

3. Yeah, Justin Bieber! Lutfi already told everyone about this, and we really meant it. You can talk about whatever you want. Whether it be your favourite TV show, or what you did last year, or about a song you like to listen to, pick a topic that defines you and be creative!

4. Moral of the Story. Including 'Islamic Input' is a piece of cake! Because anything that is beneficial & good (and at the same time, is not against any teachings of our religion) can be considered Islamic. Even a lesson you got from watching Anime, or even a line from a song that has some advice in it can be used as your Islamic Input.

5. Respect, Please. This is for the rest of us who are NOT talking in front. Public speaking can be a very frightful experience for some (as Prof Pakeer mentioned before), so please make the speaker feel comfortable by listening and paying attention to what he or she has to say. "Wish for my brother what I wish for myself", so if you want people to respect you when it is your turn to speak, then you should respect others when it is theirs.

Overall, I have been pleasantly surprised with some of the things you guys have chosen to talk about. And so far, you guys have proven that you are very good speakers. Keep up the good work, and thanks for supporting our program.

P.S: I loved hearing the Sisters gasp when we took out the "Lucky Draw" container for the first time. That was a priceless moment. XD. I know, I'm evil.

It's Official...

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful…..
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh……

1st things first, we just want to say welcome to the OFFICIAL blog of ZENITH, the 14th batch of medical students from Kulliyyah of Medicine, IIUM Kuantan. Finally, our batch’s blog is up & running!! However, a new blog IS a new blog….i’m pretty sure there’s a lot more things that need to be done here. So…we need avid bloggers out there to participate in this project…….yes, u know who you are….we need you, A.S.A.P!! Submit your name to any of the PnI committees as well as your preferred pen name and get started!!

As for the appearance of the site…no need to worry. Our technical team are still trying to find the right materials which will suit the identity of our batch. The beautification process is commencing as of now so, priorities are to the contents first.

Last but not least, we hope that this blog will get a great response from the batch. Any posts, notifications, lessons, notes, artistic materials and etc. will be done for the convenience of our batch community…. so, we would really appreciate the efforts and support from each and every one of YOU!! ZENITH fighting!!!
